As #timesavinggurus, we pride ourselves on being efficient.
One definition in the dictionary describes ‘efficient’ as ‘utilising a particular commodity or product with the least waste of resources or effort (usually used in combination).
The word ‘efficient’ is used a lot today in the workplace. However, that normally refers to the doing, or the carrying out of the task/s. There is however a step before the ‘doing’ in seeking to be efficient. The step being referred is the decision on where do we want to spend our time being ‘efficient’?? On average you sleep for 8 hours in a 24-hour period, which means you have 16 hours of the day awake, circa 8 hours of which are spent at work.
Does not efficiency start with what/where to focus your 8 hours?? Is not the true meaning of being efficient to not only decide what/where to focus your energy, but then to be efficient in the delivery of that too?
#timesavingguru tip: before you leave the workplace for the day; draft your to-list for the next day so that when you come in the next day you just start on your first task – hit the ground running.
